Alys grew up in Cardiff and completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at King’s College London however sport has always been her main interest and love having swum at county level and played hockey to a high level for 13 years.
Alys’ main sports are Hockey and Rugby and anything to do with women’s sport. The interest and enthusiasm about the latter has developed through her work with The Women’s Sport Trust and their online magazine The Mixed Zone where she created and now runs their Twitter and Facebook pages.
Alys is now completing an MA in Sport Journalism at St Mary’s University Twickenham, which along with her science-based degree gives her a unique edge and is further developing an analytical and critical writing style.
