Published: 26 May 2014

The Cod Army are heading to League One for the first time in their history.

The Cod Army will be marching into League One next year but for Burton while it has been a good season they will need to be ready to go again in League Two.

So Graham Alexander will be playing against his old team Preston North End next season!

94mins Full time Fleetwood 1-0 Burton, something fishy in air at Wembley! Burton fall at final hurdle only a goalkeeper error separated the sides.

92mins Long range for Burton however draged wide Fleetwood almost there, their fans are starting to celebrate! Another corner for Burton keeper up!

90mins four minutes added on and Burton have another corner, keeper not coming up yet!

87mins Ismail has won a corner for Burton what can they make of this? Diamond however can not get any meaniful contact and Fleetwood move ever closer!

84mins Ian Hume almost gets onto an end of good ball in for Fleetwood, he is then replaced by a holding midfielder Stewart Murdoch.

81mins There has been late drama in the last two play off games what are the odds on their being another late goal?

78mins So Fleetwood are 12 minutes away from a place in league one, what can Burton do to respond?

75mins Goal! Fleetwood 1-0 Burton freekick midway in the Burton half taken by Sarcevic loops over the Burton keeper shades of Ronaldinho against England back in 2002.

73mins Zeli Ismail has come on for Burton as they sense they can win this!

70mins Another good chance for Burton clear header from a corner Candsell-Sherriff again possible could do better there!

65mins In the last few minutes Burton seemed to been the team more on the front foot couple of searching crosses however cleared by the Fleetwood defence.

62mins Zander Diamond is about to come on for Burton Albion replacing Marcus Holness who reportedly has a slight hamstring injury.

59mins Stat! Fleetwood town have had 6 promotions in the past 9 seasons and are seen by many as the favourites for this game, unable to find the breakthrough so far!

56mins Best chance of the game so far Billy Kee for Burton played through on goal  however his effort goes over the bar, should do better!

55mins Chris Hussy is the next try his luck from long range for Burton however struck high over the bar!

52 mins Long range effort from  Burton, however easy for Maxwell to gather!

49mins No changes as of yet, Burton playing in their 4-4-2 formation while Fleetwood playing in more a 4-4-2 diamond formation, playing slighlty narrower.

47mins Early pressure from Fleetwood David Ball just unable to turn a volley goalwards hopefully second half will be an improvement!

Second Half Underway!

46mins Half time so after good start from Fleewood, the game went scrappy  and we still await the first goal of the league two play off final.

45mins Just the one minute added on at end of first half.

44mins However blasted straight into the wall just a minute left of first half.

43mins Freekick in good position for Fleetwood 25 yards out...

40mins Bit of a lull in the game after a good start looks like both sides are looking to get to half time, the  crossing has not been great throughout by both sides, too often has the delievery hit the first man.

37mins Both sides so far have got in good positions but up to now, just lack that bit quality when they get into that final third.

34mins Another penalty shout for Fleetwood however fair 50/50 shoulder challange, again not enough in it for me to give it!

31mins Applause from the  Burton supporters to show their support for radio presenter Colin Bloomfield currently in hospital at the moment we wish him well!

30mins Half an hour gone, Fleetwood have had the better chances and no surprise having more of the ball, 64% compared to 36% for Burton.

27mins Long spell of Fleetwood pressure however Burton are holding firm, just doing enough to deny a meaningful strike on their goal!

24mins Best effort for Burton so far as Bell fires from long range however straight at goalkeeper Maxwell!

19mins  Burton starting to use the width in the last few minutes and getting a bit of joy going down the flanks diving header just going wide of the Fleetwood goal!

16mins Penalty appeal for Fleetwood however not for me, defender got the ball!

15mins Stat! Fleetwood are yet to concede a goal in the play-offs this season.

12mins Good open game so far, not what was predicted!

11mins Burton slowly getting in the game now Fleetwood goalkeeper Maxwell  just tipping away good searching corner!

7mins A lot of empty seats around Wembley predicted 5-6000 supporters for each team!

4mins So Fleetwood have made a strong start but remains 0-0

2mins Lyness in the Burton goal has already been called into action twice early firstly a brillient one handed save out pushed out for a corner, from the resulting corner the keeper is just able to gather.

The teams are out and we are underway!

Burton Albion: Lyness, Edwards, Holness, Cansdell-Sherriff, Hussey, MacDonald, Bell, Weir, McFadzean, Kee, McGurk. Subs: Hall, Gray, Diamond, Palmer, Alexander, Knowles, Ismail.

Fleetwood Town: Maxwell, McLaughlin, Roberts, Pond, Taylor, Goodall, Blair, Morris, Sarcevic, Ball, Hume. Subs: Lucas, Murdoch, Evans, Schumacher, Parkin, Matt, Jordan.
Referee: Michael Naylor (Sheffield)

Stat! Both sides have never been in League One before. The last appearance at Wembley for either side was at least 27 years ago. Back in 1987 Burton Albion met Kidderminster in the FA Trophy final, drawing the first game before losing the replay. For Fleetwood Town however, you have to go back an extra two years to1985 when they lost to Halesowen Town in the FA Vase final.

Fleetwood just missed out on automatic promotion this season coming in fourth. They defeated York City in their play off semi-final 1-0 on aggregate and will likely be looking to top scorer Billy Kee to fire them to promotion.

Burton meanwhile finished the season in sixth place and overcame Southend in their semi final, by winning the first leg 1-0 before earning a 2-2 draw at Roots Hall Stadium giving them a 3-2 aggregate win overall.

Today will be the fifth meeting between the sides in this season’s campaign with Burton winning two of them including a FA Cup 2nd round replay. However Fleetwood emerged winners in their last encounter 4-2.

Good afternoon all! Adam Stephens here as we await the team news from Wembley Stadium for the League two play off final!
