Rosslyn Park won their tenth game in a row as they dispatched in-form Hartpury College at the Rock.

Park’s captain Hugo Ellis scored two second-half tries in a hard-fought match, with Dave Vincent and Sam Shires also touching down for the hosts.

Hartpury opened the scoring when Gareth Thompson took advantage of an infringement at the scrum to kick an early penalty.

Park responded immediately, though, and Vincent scored the first try of the afternoon in the left corner, with Scott Sneddon’s right boot providing the extras.

Thompson made it 7-6 with another precise penalty, before Park went down the other end and bundled the ball over the try line, with Shires appearing to get the decisive touch.

The visitors refused to lie down and hit back when Mitch Burton drove a kick from one side of the pitch to the other, allowing the influential Thompson to claim his side’s first try.

Park began to tighten up and camped themselves in the Hartpury half, with Adam Bellamy touching down for a half-time score of 17-11.

A tight second half was punctuated by three tries from the hosts, with substitute Will Bowley bursting through to score in between two from Ellis.

Sneddon converted two of his three second-half attempts and ensured Park kept the pressure on league leaders Ealing.
